Pre-Registration

The 9th American Forest Congress will be held at the Omni Shoreham HotelWashington, DC, on July 15–18, 2025. 

Registration Deadline May 15th

The Congress welcomes all who are dedicated to fostering opportunities for connection, inspiration, and driving change to benefit forests and the people who depend on them now and in the future. The Steering Committee is committed to balancing representation across various sectors, regions, and perspectives. The Committee reserves the ability to limit participation from any one organization or to respond to overall equity and capacity constraints. 

Individuals who represent a broad cross-section of the forestry community representing the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

Expertise & Influence/Thought Leaders
Individuals who have significant expertise or demonstrated influence in forestry, forest-dependent, or other related fields. 

Geographic Diversity
Representatives from different regions of the U.S. and its territories to ensure a wide range of regional expertise and perspectives. 

Sectoral Balance
Symmetrical representation from different sectors (e.g., non-profit, academia, government, forest industry, recreation) to encompass wide-ranging perspectives. 

Youth & Emerging Leaders
Early career professionals who show strong leadership potential and innovative thinking.

Fresh Viewpoints, New Approaches
Individuals, groups, and organizations offering innovative strategies and ideas. Tribal and Indigenous community representatives, as well as under-represented fields and backgrounds, that depend on, or draw inspiration from, forests are strongly encouraged to attend.

Once you’ve completed the pre-registration form, invitees will receive an email to process registration fees, followed by a confirmation containing important event details, including instructions for booking lodging using our exclusive hotel booking block.

The 9th American Forest Congress Steering Committee is committed to an accessible event for everyone; this includes
representation across various sectors, regions, and perspectives. We do not want to hinder attendance due to financial accessibility.  

Given this, the Steering Committee has developed a tiered registration fee system to allow for participation: 


Cancellation/Refund AND Registration Substitution Policies
 

All cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing prior to Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and sent to ForestCongress@americanforests.org. Refund requests will be honored less a 3% credit card processing fee of your total registration fee. No refunds will be issued after Tuesday, May 20, 2025. 

Registration Substitutions/Transfer RequestsIf you are no longer able to attend the Congress, you may request your registration be transferred to another individual within your organization as a substitution. Only one substitution will be allowed per registration. All substitution requests must be made in writing prior to Tuesday, July 1, 2025, and sent to ForestCongress@americanforests.org.
